CAS Cold Atom: Your Best Partner in the Quantum Era
CAS Cold Atom Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd. develops products and solutions for atomic quantum computing, quantum precision measurement, and quantum measurement and control. Originating from the Innovation Academy for Precision Measurement Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS Cold Atom is one of China’s earliest teams engaged in atomic quantum technology, with nearly 30 years of experience in atom manipulation. The company brings together two chief scientists of China’s National Basic Research Program (973 Program) and more than 100 PhD experts. Its team has published more than 300 high-level papers and achieved multiple world-record technical results in atomic-interferometry precision measurement and neutral-atom quantum computing.
CAS Cold Atom is China’s first company with both R&D and industrialization capabilities in atomic quantum computing and quantum precision measurement. It is the chain leader enterprise of Hubei’s quantum technology industrial chain and an inaugural member of the national Quantum Science and Technology Industry-University-Research Innovation Alliance. The company is building an atomic-technology industrial cluster covering quantum computing, quantum precision measurement, and quantum control. Neutral-atom quantum computing—which uses laser-trapped atoms as qubits and offers strong scalability, long coherence time and high consistency while requiring no extreme cryogenic environment and remaining easy to deploy—is widely regarded as one of the most promising paths to large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computing.
In June 2024, CAS Cold Atom released Hanyuan-1, a 100-qubit atomic quantum computer, filling China’s gap in commercial atomic quantum computing systems. In April 2025, Hanyuan-1 was delivered to China Mobile, marking China’s first delivery of an atomic quantum computer, as reported by People’s Daily on June 4, 2025. In May 2026, Hanyuan-2, the world’s first dual-core atomic quantum computer, was officially launched, moving the quantum processor from single-core to dual-core architecture and supported by fully independent, in-house R&D. In June 2026, the first commercial order for Hanyuan-2 was signed, marking its entry into commercial application. The company will advance fully programmable and global-simulation technical routes in parallel and roll out the CAS Cold Atom Quantum Computing Cloud Platform for a broad user base.
In quantum precision measurement, CAS Cold Atom’s high-precision atomic quantum absolute gravimeter took part in the International Comparison of Absolute Gravimeters (ICAG) in both 2017 and 2023. Its quantum gravity gradiometer secured its first commercial order in 2023 and completed China’s first commercial delivery of an atomic quantum gravity gradiometer in 2024. Its marine quantum gravimeter has completed more than 200 days of open-ocean measurement, and its quantum measurement-and-control components are supplied in batches to leading Chinese research institutes and central state-owned enterprises. These products support mineral exploration, earthquake early warning, gravity-matching navigation, and marine gravity surveying.
The company holds more than 100 patents, over half of which are invention patents. Its core technologies integrate atomic physics, lasers, electronics, and computer software, forming strong technical barriers. Its core products—atomic quantum precision-measurement instruments and atomic quantum computers—enjoy strong market competitiveness and broad application prospects across precision measurement and quantum computing.
Compute the Future, Measure the World. CAS Cold Atom delivers the highly scalable, stable and easy-to-deploy Hanyuan-series quantum computing products and solutions, together with precision measurement and control products and solutions for gravity, magnetic and electric fields. Hand in hand with partners worldwide, the company brings atomic quantum technology into industrial applications and serves as a trusted partner in the quantum era.
