Visa Information for International Conference Participants
All foreign participants planning to attend the conference in the Russian Federation must ensure that their travel documents and visas are in full compliance with current Russian immigration regulations.
- Passport Validity Requirement
Each participant must hold a valid passport, the expiry date of which must be no earlier than six (6) months after the start date of the conference. Failure to meet this requirement may result in denial of entry or visa refusal.
- E-visa
Since January 20, 2026, the Russian Federation has expanded its electronic visa (e-visa) program, which is now available to citizens of 64 foreign countries, including most EU member states, China, India, Japan, and others. The e-visa allows a single entry and is valid for up to 30 days. E-visa applicants are not required to submit an invitation letter, hotel booking confirmation or any other document confirming the purpose of their travel to the Russian Federation. If you have a valid Russian visa in your passport, you do not need to apply for a unified e-visa. You can visit the Russian Federation with a regular visa within its validity period without the restrictions established for the unified e-visa. The validity of a regular visa cannot be extended by obtaining an e-visa.
In order to apply for a unified e-visa, it is necessary to submit an application from your personal account on the specialized website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia or through the Russian Foreign Ministry mobile application. The application can be submitted no earlier than 86 days and no later than 4 days before the expected date of entry into the Russian Federation.
If your country is on the e-visa eligibility list, you may apply online via the official portal of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (https://evisa.kdmid.ru) without submitting documents to a consulate.
- Individual or Group Travel
Please specify whether you intend to travel alone or accompanied (e.g., by colleagues, family members). Each accompanying person – regardless of relationship – must obtain their own visa and, if required, a separate invitation letter. Family members cannot enter on the participant’s visa.
- Processing Time and Fees
E-visa standard processing as no more than 4 calendar days. Approximate Fee ~50$.
